On the 23rd of June 2025, the AUTOSUP consortium came together for our 2nd online plenary meeting — a day full of collaboration, insights, and tangible progress!
Alongside updates from all work packages and alignment on the next steps, we took a deep dive into the first two use cases to be implemented in the AUTOSUP Decision Support System (DSS).
This plenary meeting also marked the conclusion of the first year of the AUTOSUP project — a key milestone as we move to concrete implementation.
📍 Use Case 1: Port of Antwerp-Bruges (Living Hub)
We’re supporting port automation by developing a DSS for autonomous vehicles operating in a closed-loop environment. This automation will:
✅ Enable 24/7 operations
✅ Optimize asset utilization
✅ Improve safety
✅ Boost efficiency
✅ Reduce CO₂ emissions
📍 Use Case 2: Port of Trieste (Living Hub)
We’re enhancing rail freight efficiency through a DSS for predictive wagon maintenance based on Smart Gates for inspections. This data-driven solution will:
✅ Reduce downtime
✅ Improve service quality
✅ Support seamless rail operations
✅ Enable a modal shift towards rail
Together, we are laying the foundation for autonomous, multimodal, and sustainable freight transport across Europe.
